As my epic Creative Zen Vision W's screen cracked, i had to sell it. Gutted . I then ordered a piece of shit mp3, mp4, mp5 (!?! - for those who don't see a problem with this, it doesn't exist) player off ebay for like 30quid. However, it clearly is gonna be a complete bag of shit, but i just needed a temporary replacement.

Now I am gonna be forced to get an ipod or something. For the record, i fucking HATE ipods. However, I have been hearing good things about jailbreaking and shit. But my question is, if i were to be cheap and buy an 8gb touch, is there anyway to update the hard drive on it? iv seen hacks of people upgrading their ipods, but not the touch.

I too hated ipods because of the way they make you operate only through itunes..
jailbreaking was handy though it was not exactly how i planned it to work...and still have trouble using it a windows Pod...file transfer is still difficult i know i need to do something else but cant work it out...

BUT they are Fun...and I also ended up with a iphone (talk about addictive) ....gave in to the man and went to itunes...you know its really not that bad loolz...

I was loyal to creative chain, the zen vision M was the best player i have ever seen. I have like a phobia of ipods, i hate them lol. i hate the design [the scroll wheel is terrible design when you have thousands upon thousands of songs and you need to find one in the middle-end]. I think itunes is the worst program ever invented, it just doesn't do what it's meant to. But that goes for macs in general, which im forced to use. however, if i can't upgrade the drive on it, 8gb is no use. and i'm not really interested in payin over £350 for a 64gb player. hmmm, i guess i'll look elsewhere. cheers though

idk about upgrading an ipod's HD, but the ipod touch is simply the best mp3 player out there...it does everything, and jailbreaking it increases its value 10-fold..I can't believe how much I have used this device since I bought it.

Buy a used one in good condition, I'd recommend getting at least a 2nd gen one...the 64gb ones are pricey, I think the 32gb ones are a good price though. I don't really know how much storage space you want. If you want a lot of storage just get an ipod classic.

also, thanks for calling it ipod touch and not itouch. I hate people that call them itouches. It's not a fucking itouch...itouches don't exist.

Ideally at the very least 32gb but 64 would be ideal for vids n shit. if i were to get one it would defs be a jailbreak. i hate ipod classics coz of the scroll wheel, there's better and cheaper things i could buy tbf. but cheers for reply, sorta helps.

Sooo... I found a bargain on ebay...
an ipod touch 32gb. He said it was faulty [only works through one headphone, unless u ram the jack in, apparently an easy fix...] so i got it for 85 quid next day delivery, which to be fair, is a fucking bargain
Now, anyone who has read any of my posts on ipods knows that i hate them, itunes and macs in general, not forgettin the friggin apple fanboys. However, i actually QUITE like my ipod touch. I could never get a classic coz of that fucking scroll wheel but so far the touch screen is actually doing me well. I filled a 32gb player the first day i had it though which is a pain in the ass tbf,. However, the main gripe with fucking ipods was that you had to use fucking itunes which is why i avoided it so much. HOWEVER, now i have found a good [FREE] alternative to itunes that i can get on with very easily, allowing you to transfer, edit, delete, rename and add artwork to easily, without having to use itunes.

I'm ashamed of myself for caving in... but £85 is a friggin' bargain i couldn't resist.
